Bearing Two Three Zero

Welcome to the launch of my latest book.
An unusual place for an idea.

I often wonder where artists find their inspiration. Maybe a trip to some far off land? A love affair? A dangerous adventure? For my latest book I found inspiration in an unlikely location far from anywhere exotic - Heston Service Station on the M4 motorway.

It was one of those busy days with an early start and a long commute. I had stopped for a coffee and my ever curious mind had started to read up on the history of Heston Airfield which the motorway and service station had been built over. What I discovered was the fascinating story of Sydney Cotton and the early days of aerial surveillance. On the drive home I started to formulate the plot for a story.

Bearing Two Three Zero follows on from my first novel, Call Sign Panther. At the start of the book we find Jack Sommers as a battle-hardened pilot flying sorties over France. He’s then assigned to a secret unit which has been formed to carry out special operations over enemy territory. As a result he finds himself in a very dangerous situation.

When I received the proof copy of Bearing Two Three Zero, I was relieved to see the book finished. It had taken longer than I’d expected. Almost two years had elapsed between writing the opening chapter and typing out the last line. Despite the length of time it had taken, writing the book has been a really enjoyable experience and I’m pleased to be able to share it here with you.

My sincere thanks go to all those who have helped me on this journey.

It has been a pleasure writing this book and I hope you enjoy it.
