Unusual Histories and Intriguing Mysteries of Great Britain Podcast
Open up a map of Great Britain and stick a pin anywhere. I bet it won’t take you long to find some interesting fact about the area you chosen .... accept maybe Stevenage.

For a small country, Great Britain is very rich in history, but it’s not all green and pleasant. Scandals, murder, witchcraft, battles, executions and rebellions all help to create a colourful landscape.

I, like many other people, have always been interested in British history, so I’m taking this opportunity to set out and discover, actually in most cases just rediscover, the Unusual Histories and Intriguing Mysteries of Great Britain.

I invite you to join me as I take on some incredibly undemanding journeys, all in relative comfort. I’ll looking for interesting stories, strange buildings, mythical animals, folklore legends and some decent pubs. Who knows I might even find the occasional ghost.

In the first series I visit the New Forest. The ancient Norman hunting ground in Hampshire. This is because I have a limited budget for the podcast and happen to live close by.

Among other adventures I’ll be tracking down a coven of witches, investigating a 1000 year old murder and unravelling a chilling Victorian ghost story.
